The largest
community in Butte County is Chico in
the north county area. Chico is the home of
CSUC. Chico news can be obtained at

KPAY. Oroville is the county seat
and home to Oroville Dam and Oroville Lake which is part of the state water

site. Paradise is the largest
"ridge" community in Butte County. Once known as a sleepy senior oriented
town it has not escaped the same rapid growth
that the rest of Butte County has seen in recent years. Paradise news can be found at

Gridley is the largest
farming community in the county and is located at the base of the Sutter
Buttes. The Sutter Buttes are
the smallest independent mountain range in the world. Gridley is also the
gateway to the Gray Lodge
Wildlife Area where in excess of a million birds winter over. Other
communities such as
Biggs, Richvale,
Durham,
Palermo, and Bangor dot the
valley floor. Mountain communities include such places as
Cohasset, Forest
Ranch, Magalia,
Concow,
Cherokee, Berry Creek, and Feather Falls. The
