The weather
in Butte County is as diverse as any in California. From the bountiful
valley floor with it's rich farmland and
vernal pools to the pristine
canyons and peaks of the Eastern foothills and mountains. While generally
referred to as being Mediterranean in nature that description doesn't
fully express the varied micro-climates that abound. Residents often
escape the summer heat by taking a short drive into the surrounding
mountains where the temperature can be 20 degrees cooler or more. Local
